Anna Politano was born and raised in Salvador, Bahia, Brazil. At age 15, she became an exchange student in Lawton, Okla. where she graduated from MacArthur High School. Anna later attended Cameron University graduating Magma Cum Laude with a bachelors degree in Journalism and minors in English, Spanish, and History.
While at Cameron University, Anna became the managing editor of the school’s weekly newspaper, The Cameron Collegian. She began her career working as News Editor for The Guthrie News Leader, a five-day newspaper in Central Oklahoma.
Anna also worked for Delta Dental of Oklahoma as Communication Specialist in its Corporate Communications Department. In 2010, Anna became editor of Oklahoma Living magazine, published by the Oklahoma Association of Electric Cooperatives. She earned the Certified Cooperative Communicator (CCC) designation from the National Rural Electric Cooperative Association (NRECA) and now serves on the CCC Board of Directors as Chair of its Candidate Assessment & Program Standards Committee. Anna is a member of NRECA’s Statewide Editors Association where she serves at the chair of its E-media Committee. She is a member of Cooperative Communicators Association, the Oklahoma Academy, and Young Professionals in Energy.
Anna is currently a graduate student at the University of Missouri School of Journalism pursuing a master’s degree in Media Management. Anna lives in Guthrie, Oklahoma with her husband, Bruno, and their two children, Samuel and Julia. The family attends Community Church in Guthrie.
